Becky Fury: British-ish

- Just the Tonic at The Exchange Bar, Leicester
Becky Fury - “Finest sticks of comedy dynamite to be found for love or a suggested donation” Scotsgay
Are you British- ish? Do you know what that means anymore? Then this is a show for you.
Becky Fury is an award winning comic writer and performer who happens to be all sorts of currently trendy identities like mixed race and bisexual and non binary but she started being all those things before they were fashionable, so she’s more comfortable  talking about her least fashionable identity; being British, or British- ish.

This is a funny, an fast paced show from an intelligent free thinking comedian that reclaims British identity from where it is currently residing in the rather grimy gutter of far right politics and reimagines it in the context of the things that actually made Britian Great: multiculturalism, open heartedness  and 2000 years of immigration

It also pokes fun at the things that make it not so great. Colonialism, racist nans, tax havens, sleazy politicians and chicken tikka lasagna from Iceland are all subject to an affectionate roasting

If you struggle with the idea of ‘loving your country’ but could possibly imagine yourself being in a non monogamous situationship with it

Then this is the show for you

Becky Fury is an award winning comic writer and performer who currently gigs all over the UK and Europe and has a few TV credits including staring in an improvised advert for everyone’s favourite  German car company, that has dubious ties to the Nazi regime that no one wants to think about anymore, and the Kumars at number 42, who probably aren’t Nazis or weren’t at the time of this going to press
