André de Freitas - “Combination of quirkiness and intelligence. A pleasure” ★★★★ The Telegraph
André turned 30 and discovered he was cursed by an ex. A Brazilian curse called Makumba. In that same year, following his mother's cancer diagnosis he went back home to spend time with his family only to realise he doesn’t know who they are as people. Do parents have names? Personalities? A show about that time in all of our lives after our parents stop being our carers and before we become theirs.
Dad was always dad and he was invincible. All of a sudden, he’s called Miguel and he gets scammed online. Mum always took care of all of us. And even with cancer, she still does; only now, she goes to music festivals and gets stoned. Who is this great woman and what’s her name? But the big question is, which of my exes cursed me? Why? And is it all related?
